Ever since the first motor was attached to a vehicle, man has been obsessed with exploring its limits. Over time, the quest for speed has become synonymous with one place on earth:

Bonneville.

Much history is associated with The Salt...Legends created...Stories told and re-told. Cars have been named in honor of it...motorcycles, too.

This year, a handpicked team of enthusiasts will make the pilgrimage to The Salt with...

A URAL.

A URAL?

Manufactured in Russia since 1939, this horizontally-opposed 650 cc Twin is one of the most vererable designs in motorcycling. Imported into the US since 1994, the 35 hp sidecar design has endeared itself to a avid group of sidecarists who enjoy life in the slow lane. You see, URAL sidecar motorcycles have earned a reputation as 'backroad tourers' with cruising speeds in the 50's and low 60's.

We're about to change that.

The Siberian Speed Team is intent on bringing home a Production Class Land Speed Record this year...the first of its kind for ANY Russian vehicle. We will do it with a mixture of Russian iron and American ingenuity, sprinked with a liberal dose of pride. We're proud to have the opportunity to write a few lines in Bonneville's history book...proud to be a part of The Salt.

Just how fast can a URAL go?

We shall soon see...
