I am looking for help I have just acquired a child's motor cycle that I would like to restore from the attached picture you can see it has JAWA on the tank but I find it hard to believe its a Jawa with a Minarelli engine can anybody confirm what this bike is and if there is any where in the south of England that I may be able to get engine spares. -- many thanks Mark Hurrell -- mark1361@yahoo.com

I'm from Winston-Salem North Carolina, have a 1974 Jawa 350 cc Californian and am looking for someone to bring it up to snuff. It's not running at present but I don't think there's very much at all wrong with it. Can you provide any information about who might be around that might help ? sport 174 * 477, trail 125 * 481, trail 175 * 482 edition 1976,
66 pages thick with thin text, not the best print (like the quality of the machine....) much text.

The bike is a 350cc two stroke model 640 from 1993 more info follows when I get a better translation

I am sending you a picture of my dad's bike, from back in the 50's. It is a tiny 175cc two stroke, it had made the trip to s.germany with my mum on the rear.

PS: it is me mum on the rear of the first picture.

Further to me mention the other day, I have set up JAWACHAT. It's a kind of email-based discussion group that folk can subscribe to (for free. They send a message to "the list", and all subscribers get the message, and can reply etc and everyone gets it. Perhaps you could spread the word in RDR etc?

To subscribe, send an email to the following address:

Do not put anything in the subject field, but as the main message body, type the following:
subscribe jawachat

A reply will be sent confirming you are subscribed, with a message telling you to send all messages for the list to:
jawachat@davenport.prestel.co.uk

In a nutshell, it's a bit like Newsgroups, but in your email. Initially, until it gets off the ground, I have set my server to process the list at 0620 and 1820 hrs. If it gets busy, I will increase that. Enjoy! -- Graham

I am looking for information on a 1962 Jawa Motorcycle. I picked it up at an auction, along with a Simson Suhl, also from 1962. I have been looking for info on these little scooters, but most of the web sites I've found are in European languages I don't speak.
